Yeah, Caps defense is so much better, but absolutely hate the Orpick contract, wish we got somebody cheaper and resigned Grabovski... But the oprick signing was partly so that Niskanen signs with caps too otherwise he goes to the Wings, that deal I love. For right now caps will definitely benefit from those contracts, 3 years from now not so much.
Bummed Grabovski is going to Islanders, hoping to get Legwand just to have something at 2nd line center, but defense was priority and that is gonna fix a lot of problems.
And yeah ducks losing Perreault along with Bonino suck, and I honestly don't think Kesler is worth that at all, they were better off sticking with what they had. I just dont see them as that big of a threat in the west when the blues, avs, stars, canucks, and wild are all getting much better (not to mention hawks/kings/sharks) . Ducks fix one thing but lose a lot of depth at the same time, will have to see though, Kesler could be great

Anytime I watched Stoner play he seemed to be on point It's mostly that we signed him for 3.25x4...And we could have signed Robidas OR perrault for cheaper! both of them were penned for 3m... I also hate to say it, but I think they're trying to be less of a "leagues top goal scorer" and more of a playoff contender. Anaheim needed heart and soul guys besides Beauchemin, Getzlaf, and Perry. and as much as I hate to say it, I think the Kings have it right because look at how they played in the regular season, and then look at how everyone played in the playoffs.. I don't think they had a single passenger the entire series. |

Wings are trying to acquire Mike Green from Washington, not stoked on it Yeah I don't see caps getting rid of him at this point, while there's too much money on our defense right now it is the best defense they've had in a long time, they won't rush to trade green unless it's not working out, don't think he's going anywhere till maybe the deadline unless wings give a really good offer and from what I've heard their offer so far sucks. There's not much from the wings that the caps need (centers) so it's not really a good fit. green would be a good pickup for wings though, would fit their style so much better, he sucks defensively but he produces points pretty consistently |
